King Tiger Tank - Restoration In Switzerland

There is a King Tiger being restored in Switzerland.  They obtained it in 2006 and have been posting videos (12 thus far) from time to time showing how they are progressing.

They make fascinating viewing are are recommended viewing for any WW2 tank enthusiast :)

Comment:  These guys have got their work cut out trying to get this King Tiger running again.  Looks like damage to both front drive sprockets.  If the damage has continued in and taken out the final drives, that is massive about of work to replace them.  Both the drive and hull mg stations have to be dismantled as a starter.

King Tiger Video

Stumbled across some more video of the only working King Tiger (or Tiger II) taken at the French museum 'Musée des Blindésat' at Saumur. Never been there myself, but it's definitely a place I'd like to visit.

Towing the Tiger 2 - King Tiger 104

Towing the (UK) Tank Museums King Tiger back into the museum after a brief stay in the workshop area. It's a great shame IMHO that they haven't restored it so it can move under its own power...

Colonial Warfare & Running King Tiger

Not much activity today other than assembling a couple more new GZG vehicles. They are part way through getting an initial coat of gray spray. I'll start on with painting them tomorrow. On a different note altogether, anyone with a passing interest in Colonial Warfare should check out a web site of an old friend of mine (Ray), who attended the Huntingdon club for a number of years.
